Robert Johns is an author of fiction in St. Paul, Minnesota. After receiving a master of arts in English in 1976 from the University of Iowa, he dreamed of writing stories about personal choices in the face of cultural forces and conflict. Forty years later, following an academic and public sector career in transportation research, he began writing fiction with guidance from The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis. His debut novel, O’Brien’s Broken Play, was published in October 2023.
